I'm Emily. Nurse for over 20 years, mom, DJ, sound healer, and someone who spent the last several years in the thick of perimenopause trying to find real answers instead of guesses. This page is what I've learned about peptides so far. No hype, no fear, just the truth, my perspective, and an opportunity for you to learn too.
Let's figure out what your body actually needs.
I help give people access to provider led, pharmaceutical grade peptides within a community of supportive, intelligent, and compassionate humans who want to help everyone access these incredible tools safely. We do this together, and we are here with you every step of the way.
I hold advanced, evidence-based certification in peptide education covering fat loss, body composition, energy, immune function, inflammation, skin, brain, and mood. That means I can guide you with real knowledge and point you toward what's worth exploring. What I can't do, and won't pretend to, is diagnose or prescribe. That's exactly why everything here runs through a provider led model, so you get the education from me and the medical oversight from a licensed provider.
Peptides are short chains of amino acids, the same building blocks your body already uses to make protein. You make thousands of them naturally, every day. They act like messengers, telling specific cells what to do: repair a tendon, calm inflammation, deepen sleep, build collagen. I like to think of peptides like little keys. When they reach a receptor, each key works to send the correct message to help the body do various things. As we age, these messengers deplete over time. Peptide therapy is a replenishment of what we've lost in aging. Some peptides are made in a lab to mirror ones your body already produces. That's it. There's no magic in it.
Peptides are chemistry your body already knows how to work with.
These are the categories I get asked about most, from women in the exact stage of life I'm in.
Some peptides support collagen and elastin production, the two things perimenopause tends to pull back on first, along with deeper tissue repair.
I've personally experienced decreased joint pain in my knees and hips, increased hair growth, and stronger nails and cuticles. My wounds heal quicker, and my skin tone and elasticity have definitely improved. Taking BPC-157 orally is helping repair the lining of my leaky gut. A few of the ones I get asked about most:
Deeper sleep, faster recovery from workouts and illness, and a clearer head.
I became hooked on sleeping medications back in the early 2000s, and it was one of the gateway drugs that helped me relapse back into active addiction. I've suffered through rounds of anxiety and depression in my life that almost took me out. To have access to tools that can help assist me when life is edging that way, tools that are non addictive, non habit forming, and actually address what's happening on a cellular level, is such progress in the mental health department. Obviously you should speak with your doctor and any other mental health provider you have about this avenue if you have an actual diagnosis, and clearly I'm not advising anyone on anything. It's beautiful that there are some new options we can discuss. My mother in law chose to start taking Dihexa for her cognitive decline, and we're starting to notice some interesting shifts in her presence and function, which is adding to her quality of life in a gentle, beautiful way. A few of the ones I get asked about most:
Supporting gut lining and taking down the low-grade inflammation so many of us are walking around with.
This is where I decided to microdose. I read so many articles, listened to podcasts, and studied this before trying it. I listened to so many stories of women claiming a decrease in inflammation, the thing I've suffered from the most in my gut. What kept popping up over and over again was a microdose of a GLP-1/GIP paired with a proper dose of BPC-157 and KPV. Alongside a deep dive into my gut microbiome and working to repair what's been damaged over the years with the right supplements and food, this combination of tools has helped tremendously. I'm still a work in progress and there's trial and error on this adventure, but these new tools are a blessing.
Support for energy, body composition, and a metabolism that's shifted since your 30s.
I didn't have a lot of weight to lose, and I didn't enter this adventure even thinking about weight. It was all for the potential for decreased inflammation at first. After a month of taking a microdose of GLP-1/GIP, I noticed a difference in the way my body felt. I did lose some weight, which ended up being visceral fat, the kind you don't want, based on the body composition scans I did. What stood out to me the most was something I did not expect. My relationship to food completely changed. I used to stand in the pantry, paralyzed by what to eat out of fear for what it would do to my gut. I either didn't eat, or I would choose based on "f it, I'll just eat this." I wasn't eating for fuel, and I always felt like I wasn't doing it right. That changed with the microdose. I have space in my brain when it comes to food now. I choose a protein, a healthy carb, and a healthy fat. The noise around my meals is gone, and I allow myself the once a week treat of my milk duds, which are like my most favorite thing on the planet. Don't mess with my milk duds.
Microdosing just means using a lower amount, more consistently, instead of a large dose all at once. It's often the gentlest way into peptide use, especially for a system that's already sensitive or reactive.
A lot of the women I work with start here on purpose. It gives your body a chance to respond before you decide whether to go further, and it's a lot easier to adjust course from a small dose than a big one.
If you're managing an autoimmune condition, peptides can still be worth exploring, but this isn't a space to figure out alone or copy from a stranger online. Your immune system is already doing something complicated, and the wrong approach can stir things up instead of calming them down.
Some peptides are being explored for their role in calming immune overactivation, but the right fit depends entirely on your history, your labs, and what you're already managing with your care team. This is exactly the kind of thing worth walking through together before you try anything.
Perimenopause changes desire, sensation, and confidence for a lot of us, and almost nobody is talking about it plainly. Some peptides are being used to support this, and it's a real and legitimate reason to look into them, not a vanity issue.
As someone who has had my own challenging and now rewarding adventure with intimacy, this conversation is one of the most exciting in the peptide world. Up until recently, there were literally zero options for women experiencing libido concerns, mainly because our relationship to sex and intimacy greatly involves our mind (past trauma, anxiety, and so on), our mind body connection, our nervous system, and our hormones. With men, it's usually a blood flow issue. Treat the blood flow, the organ works. With women, we usually don't have a blood flow issue. It boils down to our ability to relax enough to get out of our heads and into our body. This is difficult to teach, and it has to be embodied. Paired with somatic work, relaxation techniques, meditation, and regulating my own nervous system, these peptides have become a very helpful tool I use for sexual intimacy with the man I love. I've personally used the PT-141 injection so far with great success, but I'm genuinely excited to try the Elate nasal spray, which doesn't involve a poke and contains oxytocin, the hormone exchanged between mother and baby during breastfeeding, and that feel-good chemical when we're in love.
This one is personal and specific to you, so it's better talked through than guessed at. Bring your questions to a call. I promise you won't shock me.
Sourcing is where most of the risk lives in this space, so I don't spread myself across a dozen suppliers. EllieMD is provider led and pharmaceutical grade, which is exactly the standard I want behind anything I put in my own body or recommend to you.
